So, had a lot of starting troubles with the convertible.The troubles where already there last year, but now had the time to do something about it. Installed a new carburator, new spark plugs and a new 6 volt generator. Also had the starting engine rebuild and put in a extra (hard) starting relais from Bosch. Up till now, it's start and run. So hopefully the problems have gone. Here's a youtube movie of the engine running.

Yesterday we had the summer ausfarht from our club te Karmann Ghia Club Netherlands. This meeting was organised together with the Aircooled VW Club Netherlands. We had a nice meeting with lots of sunshine. To bad my convertible is not driving at this moment. But anyway we had a lot of fun.

So, Hessisch Oldendorf was oneof the nicest VW meetings I ever been.Saw a lot of nice Karmann Ghia Lowlights, Hebmuller and so on. About 25 lowlights were on display, with some increadable cars on display. Even body no. 39 from1955 was there, fully restored. On saturday we did the drive through the countryside and took the boat trip over the river Weeser. We where there just in time to see about 12 schwimmwagens to come ashore. Yeah, greet meeting. And we drove about 950 km's without any problems.

Last weekend we drove with the 58 Coupe to Diever (approx 225 km's from our Home adress) to visit my parents on their holiday adress. It was the big rehearsel for the trip to Hessisch Oldendorf. The "old lady" drove marvelous, but we now know where the car is leaking. We had some bad weather along the way and the seals are not all waterproof. Also the speedo was making a lot of noise on the way back. Fortunally I already have an original lowlight speedo replacement, so that one has to be installed as well. So lot of things to do this week....
